Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Tanta University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, delivered a lecture entitled “Institutional Excellence” under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, University President. The lecture was held as part of the activities of the Administrative Leadership Development Program organized by the Training Department, with the aim of enhancing the skills of human resources and preparing them to assume leadership roles in alignment with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
Prof. Mahmoud Selim affirmed that the university places great importance on advancing the administrative system by adopting the latest international approaches in management and evaluation. He indicated that the lecture primarily aimed to instill the concepts of institutional excellence among individuals, highlighting that human capital is the true driver of any change process. The session also reviewed practical implementation mechanisms to transform management theories into daily work practices that enhance performance efficiency across all university sectors.
The Vice President further added that the roadmap toward excellence requires a well-informed institutional management grounded in the national applied and competitive framework. He pointed out that the university is actively aligning its objectives with national standards for quality and excellence. He stressed the critical importance of applying institutional governance standards and procedures to ensure transparency and integrity within the work system, through the precise use of performance indicators as objective tools for measuring achievement rates, identifying performance gaps, and addressing them effectively.
Moreover, Prof. Mahmoud Selim explained that excellence cannot be achieved without a comprehensive evaluation system. The lecture addressed methods for developing both individual and institutional assessment plans in a scientific manner, ensuring that every staff member and leader is aware of their strengths and areas for improvement, while providing the institution with a clear vision of its progress toward strategic objectives. He affirmed that Tanta University remains committed to investing in its human capital to ensure the delivery of high-quality educational and community services characterized by excellence and leadership.
