Outcomes of “Innovation Labs” for Youth at Tanta University: Brilliant Students Showcase Their Smart Innovations
Within the framework of the role played by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Tanta University in human development and the support of talented youth, and under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, University President, and Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Sector announced the great success achieved by school students participating in the “Young Inventor in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics” course. The impact of this program was clearly reflected in innovative projects implemented by the students upon completing the training.
These outcomes represent a true embodiment of the objectives of the presidential initiative “A New Beginning for Human Development,” as the Community Service Sector successfully integrated theoretical knowledge with practical application, enabling students to advance in digital creativity and artificial intelligence.
Student Abdullah Mohamed Hasab El-Naby (15 years old) demonstrated his skills in robotics and programming by designing a “Bluetooth-Controlled Robot Car” and an advanced robotic arm, in addition to smart glasses to assist the visually impaired in detecting obstacles, which he accurately designed using the Tinkercad platform.
Meanwhile, student Karim Amr Ghabara (12 years old) presented technological solutions aimed at serving the community, including a “Smart Bracelet” to assist the elderly and Alzheimer’s patients, a “Smart Parking” project, and electronic prototypes based on Arduino technologies.
In recognition of this excellence, the university honored these students in the presence of Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. El-Sayed El-Agouz, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Alaa Helwish, Executive Manager of the Main Center for Sustainable Training; and Dr. Esmat Khorshid, Director of the Human Development Center.
Prof. Mahmoud Selim affirmed that reaching such a level of practical implementation represents the ultimate goal of the Community Service Sector, noting that the university goes beyond delivering academic content only; it seeks to create a stimulating environment for innovation in line with Egypt’s vision 2030.
He further added that these students, who were trained within the university’s “Innovation Labs,” represent the beginning of a generation of innovators capable of utilizing technology to address societal challenges, affirming the university’s continued support for all outstanding students.
