In collaboration with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Child University Program at Tanta University Continues Its Activities at the Faculty of Applied Arts to Foster Children's Creativity and Innovation
As part of the activities of the Child University Program, and under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President, with the supervision and attendance of Prof. Mahmoud Farouk Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Faculty of Applied Arts, Tanta University, welcomed students of the seventh stage – level (E2) as part of a training program designed to develop children's intellectual and creative skills while introducing them to the university environment through an integrated educational and hands-on learning experience.
The event began with the reception of the children and their parents in the presence of Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts; Prof. Maha Amer, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Samir Zaki Qamh, Coordinator of the Child University Program at Tanta University; Prof. Ola El-Toukhy, Program Coordinator at the faculty; in addition to faculty members, teaching assistants, and student volunteers.
The day's activities commenced with an introductory tour at the faculty, during which the children explored its academic departments, workshops, and laboratories, gaining insight into its specialized educational environment that supports the discovery of children’s talents and the development of their creative abilities.
The program featured a variety of hands-on workshops, including leathercraft, accessory design and production, as well as making wallets, bookmarks, and keychains. It also included a recycling workshop that focused on repurposing used materials into innovative products, promoting the values of sustainability and environmental conservation.
During his inspection tour, Prof. Mahmoud Selim closely followed the progress of the activities, observed the children's engagement in the various workshops, and listened to their impressions of the training experience and the skills and practical knowledge they had acquired.
Prof. Mahmoud Selim affirmed that the Child University Program is one of the country's most significant national initiatives for forming the character of Egyptian children by providing a university environment that encourages learning, exploration, and creativity while fostering learning, innovation, and entrepreneurial skills from an early age.
He added that Tanta University is committed to providing a comprehensive, practice-oriented educational experience across its various faculties, enabling children to explore modern academic disciplines and gain practical experience that enhances their creativity and connects theoretical knowledge with practical application, in line with the objectives of the Presidential Initiative for Human Development and Egypt’s Vision 2030.
