Prof. Mahmoud Selim, “A Workshop is Organized on Career Planning in Integration with the Efforts to Increase Children's Abilities”
Faculty of Engineering, Tanta University, received today the children participating in the program “A Child’s University” held as part the initiative “Scientist Children for a Better Future” under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Prof. Jina Al-Fiqi, Acting President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT); and Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University, in the attendance of Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Dean of Faculty of Engineering, and Engr. Nasser Hassan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education in Gharbia Governorate; Prof. Walaa Nour, Faculty Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Abdullah Khedr, Head of the Chemistry Department at Faculty of Science and General Coordinator of “A Child's University” at Tanta University; Prof. Ahmed Abo Al-Saadat, Manager of the University Center for Career Development at Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Iman El-Ghamry, Coordinator of “A Child's University” at the Faculty of Engineering; and Mr. Rami Hammad, Senior Career Development Specialist and Certified Trainer at the University Center for Career Development.
During his inspection of the program's activities, Prof. Mahmoud Selim listened to the views of the children and found out their benefits from the activities of the program at Tanta University. Many parents expressed their gratitude for the efforts of the university and the community service sector in designing the activities of the program, as they had positive impact on the cognitive, skill, cultural and behavioral traits of children. The children presented their innovative projects, which included the design of agricultural sensors to reduce water consumption and prototypes of energy generation systems, which were carried out with technical support from faculties of engineering, agriculture and science.
