During the Meeting of Managers of the Main Centers and Social Units at Tanta University, Prof Mahmoud Selim Gives a Presentation on Development of Business Models within the Framework of Competition, Innovation, and Reinforcing Entity

Reports were reviewed on the programs and initiatives implemented to support the presidential initiatives

   Prof Mahmoud Selim, University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, chaired the periodic quarterly meeting held by managers of the main centers and units affiliated with the sector to follow up on implementation of the activities and events listed in the strategic and operational plan of Community Service Sector. In addition, achievements supporting the presidential initiative “A New Beginning for Human Development” were reviewed.

   Prof. Selim began the meeting with a presentation titled "Business Development Strategies," where he outlined key pivots, including business modeling concepts, defining strategic goals and objectives within an integrated institutional framework, and analyzing societal needs in terms of quality of life, labor market, and current and targeted economic performance. The presentation emphasized the importance of institutional identity, reputation, societal trust, and enhancing competitiveness through precise institutional capacity analysis for universities in the Delta region. This approach requires specialized development plans, executive strategies, and experts in developmental planning and business model innovation.

   Moreover, University Vice President indicated that the university’s vision and mission, along with its main sectors in an integrated framework, serve as foundational pillars for creating business models and transforming them into measurable and actionable indicators. These indicators enable the identification of strengths and weaknesses in performance across sectoral, and institutional levels. Mechanisms for improvement, evaluation, and monitoring were also discussed to achieve dynamic and integrated business models that meet societal, economic, and environmental demands and developments.

    Furthermore, the Vice President also highlighted the importance of accurate analytical tools and continuous measurement for managing material and human resources. This approach supports decision-making processes that create an innovative and motivating work environment, ensuring optimal resource utilization, time management, and the production of sustainable, competitive developmental outputs at the local, regional, and international levels.

   The meeting also included a review of the contributions made by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector to the presidential initiative "A New Beginning for Human Development," including advanced developmental convoys and signed protocols with several governmental and non-governmental institutions.

    In addition, Prof. Alaa Helwish, Executive Manager of the Main Center for Sustainable Training, and Prof. Esmat Khorshid presented a report on the "Innovation and Development Labs" project, which trained 565 children in specialized skill development. Prof. Hagar Alam Al-Din, Executive Manager of the Main Center for Economic Units, delivered a report on the economic performance of the centers and units, along with recommendations for improvement. Prof. Amal Abdel Sattar, Executive Manager of the Main Center for Community Services, and Prof. Sarah El-Okl presented reports on the initiatives "A Good Beginning" and "Ettamn" (Be Assured). These initiatives were carried out in collaboration with the Directorate of Education in Gharbia Governorate and faculties of Medicine and Education to conduct psychological check-ups for schoolchildren in the governorate.

     The meeting concluded with honoring five distinguished children who excelled in the "Innovation and Development Labs" programs, as well as the managers of the main centers and units participating in the activities of the "A New Beginning" initiative.
