Samannud District Hosts the Advanced Developmental Convoy of Tanta University

Under the Presidential Initiative "A New Beginning for Human Development", Samannud District Hosts the Advanced Developmental Convoy of Tanta University.

   Tanta University is organizing its comprehensive developmental convoys as part of its community service activities under the presidential initiative, "A New Beginning for Human Development". The latest convoy was held in Al-Naseria village located in Samannud District, under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University, and in the attendance of Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Sahar Al-Haggar, Vice Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Loay Al-Ahwal, Acting Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Amal Abdel Sattar, Executive Manager of the Main Center for Public Community Services.

    Medical examination was conducted, at the convoy, for 932 patients in 14 clinics including neurosurgery, pediatrics, orthopedics, dermatology, internal medicine, urology, ENT, general surgery, chest diseases, psychiatry and neurology, ophthalmology, cardiology, gynecology and the clinic of health initiatives. Free medicaments were distributed to all cases, and 62 cases were referred to Tanta University Hospitals for further examinations and treatment, also free of charge.

    Moreover, literacy exams were held at the convoy for 41 citizens in the village in collaboration with the General Authority for Literacy and Adult Education. In addition, veterinary services were provided to over 2,430 livestock and poultry. The convoy was organized with participation of a large number of academic staff members, doctors and pharmacists.
