Santa District Hosts the Advanced Developmental Convoy of Tanta University
Under the Presidential Initiative "A New Beginning for Human Development", Santa District Hosts the Advanced Developmental Convoy of Tanta University.
Tanta University is organizing its comprehensive developmental convoys as part of its community service activities under the presidential initiative, "A New Beginning for Human Development". The latest convoy was held in Al-Gemmeiza village located in Santa District, under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University, and in the attendance of Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Sahar Al-Haggar, Vice Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Loay Al-Ahwal, Acting Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development.
Medical examination was conducted, at the convoy, for 1041 patients in 13 clinics including neurosurgery, pediatrics, orthopedics, dermatology, internal medicine, urology, ENT, general surgery, chest diseases, psychiatry and neurology, ophthalmology, cardiology, and the clinic of health initiatives. Free medicaments were distributed to all cases, and 52 cases were referred to Tanta University Hospitals for further examinations and treatment, also free of charge.
Moreover, literacy exams were held at the convoy for 6 citizens in the village in collaboration with the General Authority for Literacy and Adult Education. In addition, veterinary services were provided to over 1220 livestock and poultry. The convoy was organized with participation of a large number of academic staff members, doctors and pharmacists.
