Coinciding with the Launch of the National Policy for Sustainable Innovation,

• “Tanta University’s Community Service Sector is exerting intensive efforts to support the local economy in Gharbia Governorate”

    Today, Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President of Tanta University for Community Service and Environmental Development, inspected three projects at Faculty of Engineering. These projects were funded under the initiative for self-financed innovative projects, supported by the Fund of Special Economic Centers and Units, which operates under Community Service and Environmental Development Sector.

   Prof. Selim declared that these projects have yielded practical outputs that align with the strategy of the community service sector, based on the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research and Egypt’s Vision 2030. Furthermore, he affirmed that Tanta University’s Community Service Strategy is exerting maximum efforts to support the local economy in Gharbia Governorate.

   Prof. Selim added that the three projects at Faculty of Engineering focus on renewable energy, biofuels, green hydrogen, solar energy, and autonomous vehicles (AVs), with full technical support provided to the student and graduate teams working on them.

    The visit was attended by Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Dean of Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Mostafa El-Sawwaf, Vice Dean of Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Medhat El-Kilawy and Prof. Hagar Alam Al-Din from Department of Mechanical Power Engineering, who are responsible for the projects; Engr. Mohamed Taha Ismail Radi, Assistant Lecturer at Department of Mechanical Power Engineering; and Engr. Emad Mostafa, Manager of the Center for Maintenance and Development Workshops at one of the leading automotive manufacturing and assembly companies, along with Mr. Mohamed Saad, Secretary-General of Faculty of Engineering.
