In Support of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Transition Towards Fourth-Generation Universities, Prof. Mahmoud Selim Leads a Student Delegation from Faculties of the University on a Field Visit to Misr Spinning and Weaving Company in El-Mahalla El-Kubra

    Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President of Tanta University for Community Service and Environmental Development, led a student delegation including 40 students from various university faculties on a visit to the headquarters of Misr Spinning and Weaving Company in El-Mahalla El-Kubra. The visit was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of the University. The delegation was received by Engr. Ahmed Badr, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Misr Spinning and Weaving Company, in the attendance of Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim, Acting Dean of Faculty of Applied Arts. This visit aimed to strengthen cooperation between the university and the industrial sector, as well as to provide practical training and employment opportunities for students and graduates.

   Prof. Mahmoud Selim affirmed that field visits to factories and industrial sectors play a crucial role in enhancing students’ education. These visits offer an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings, support practical understanding of academic concepts, and prepare students for labor market by developing their communication and innovation skills. Moreover, such initiatives foster strong collaboration between the university and industry while providing students with a clear vision of future career opportunities.

    During the visit, the delegation toured the "Ghazl 1" factory, the largest spinning factory in the world, as well as the "Ghazl 4" factory and the "Textile Preparations 1" factory, which specializes in recycling spinning cones for reuse in production and preparation for the weaving stage. The students also learned about the production and operation rates in these modern factories, which represent a significant leap in Egypt’s textile and weaving industry.
