Prof. Mahmoud Selim, “We Affirm Tanta University's Commitment to Continuing its Efforts and Fruitful Cooperation with the General Authority for Adult Education and all Egyptian Universities”

   After being selected as a member of the Supreme Executive Committee for Literacy at the Supreme Council of Universities (SCU), in recognition of his efforts and Tanta University's outstanding contributions in the field of community service and literacy, Prof. Mahmoud Selim stated:

• “We affirm Tanta University's commitment to continuing its efforts and fruitful cooperation with the General Authority for Adult Education and all Egyptian universities.”

• “We launched the Knowledge is Life initiative last month in partnership with the General Authority for Adult Education, Misr El Kheir Foundation, Nour Misr Charity Foundation, and the Egypt Workers’ Complex, to combat all forms of illiteracy.”

• “The Innovation and Development Laboratories Project, launched by Tanta University, aimed to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and the development of youth capacities across various fields.”

• “We are keen to launch community initiatives that promote the values of citizenship and social solidarity, and contribute to solving societal problems.”

   Prof. Mahmoud Selim participated in the first meeting of the Supreme Executive Committee for Literacy at the Supreme Council of Universities (SCU), which was formed by Ministerial Decree No. (555) of 2025 issued by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The meeting was held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, and was chaired by former Minister of Education, Prof. El-Helaly El-Sherbiny, with the participation of a distinguished group of university leaders and experts specialized in literacy and adult education.

   Prof. Selim voiced his pleasure in taking part in the meeting, affirming Tanta University's full commitment to continuing its efforts and fruitful cooperation with the General Authority for Adult Education and all Egyptian universities in order to achieve the goals of the national literacy project and community service. He indicated that a series of great community initiatives were launched by the university to support national projects and presidential initiatives, to effectively contribute to improving living conditions, and to empower the neediest community groups, in addition to intensive efforts to eradicate illiteracy.

    Moreover, Prof. Selim affirmed that these initiatives come within the framework of the national and social role undertaken by Tanta University and its continuous efforts to serve the surrounding community and contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and Egypt’s Vision 2030.
