Tanta University Vice President for Community Service and Deputy Governor of Gharbia Inspect Innovative Graduation Projects at Faculty of Engineering

As part of Tanta University’s commitment to its role in community service and environmental development, and in implementation of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research and Egypt's Vision 2030, Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Tanta University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, conducted today an inspection visit to the innovative graduation projects of the Department of Architectural Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering.
During his tour, Prof. Mahmoud Selim was accompanied by Prof. Mahmoud Eissa, Deputy Governor of Gharbia; Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Dean of Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Emad Etman, former Vice President of Tanta University; Prof. Ahmed Atta, Professor at the Department of Structural Engineering and former Deputy Governor of Gharbia; and Prof. Yasser El-Samadoony, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, along with a group of academic staff members from the faculty.
The graduation projects in the Department of Architectural Engineering focused on localizing handicraft and industrial projects within Gharbia Governorate, with the aim of creating strong economic foundations based on locally available resources such as flax and jasmine.
These pioneering projects aim to provide sustainable job opportunities for youth, directly contributing to an increase in the governorate's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and improving the living conditions of its citizens.
Moreover, Prof. Mahmoud Selim commended the high quality of the projects and the creative ideas presented, which embody a deep understanding of community needs and economic challenges.
In addition, he affirmed that these projects serve as exemplary models for linking academic education with comprehensive development goals, as they strengthen the university’s role as a driving force for progress and advancement in the governorate.
The attendees also toured the graduation projects of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, which presented innovative solutions in the fields of energy, manufacturing, and mechatronics — a testament to the diversity and significance of the research conducted by the faculty.
