Prof. Mahmoud Selim Reviews Governance Concepts and the Management of Fourth-Generation Universities at the Administrative Leaders Preparation Course
Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Tanta University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, delivered a presentation titled “Strategies for Empowering University Leadership — Toward Integrating Egypt Vision 2030 into Fourth-Generation University Systems”, as part of the activities of the Administrative Leaders Preparation Course, organized by the University Training Administration. The course was attended by 85 administrative leaders from the university, including the University Secretary-General, Assistant Secretaries-General, Secretaries-General of the faculties, General Directors, and Department Directors, within the framework of the university’s ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency of its administrative system.
During his presentation, Prof. Selim addressed several key strategic pillars, beginning with a focus on the planning framework and the formulation of executive plans in alignment with Egypt Vision 2030 and the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research. He confirmed the importance of adopting clear mechanisms and policies based on precise performance evaluation indicators, aiming to achieve the highest levels of financial and administrative governance across the various university sectors.
The Vice President also reviewed the latest contemporary university management systems and human resources management mechanisms, affirming the necessity of keeping pace with the transformations imposed by fourth-generation universities. He explained that this approach seeks to ensure outstanding productive outputs and the optimal utilization of available human and material resources, in accordance with the university’s organizational capabilities.
In conclusion, Prof. Mahmoud Selim highlighted the critical importance of training programs for human resources to keep pace with rapid changes in the fields of professional skill acquisition and management. He also emphasized the need to accelerate digital transformation processes and to strengthen green and sustainable economy policies and mechanisms, ensuring sustainability of resources and the continuous development of administrative performance in line with international standards.
