Under the Patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President, Prof. Mahmoud Selim Presents the University’s Vision for Transitioning Towards the “Fourth Generation” through Institutional Excellence

   Tanta University launched the intensive training program aimed at preparing members of the administrative staff. The program is held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, University President.

   During the program, Prof. Mahmoud Selim, University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, delivered a presentation entitled “Institutional Excellence — From Daily Performance to Sustainable Leadership.” The presentation sought to outline a comprehensive strategic vision positioning the university among smart institutions by introducing participants to the latest concepts and frameworks of excellence, as well as local and regional competitiveness awards, with particular emphasis on the Egypt Government Excellence Award and prestigious Arab awards. He affirmed that excellence standards represent the secure pathway towards achieving genuine leadership that goes beyond the routine management of daily operations.

   Prof. Mahmoud Selim also addressed the fundamental transformations in the identity of academic institutions, highlighting the concept of “Fourth Generation Universities,” which are founded on innovation and the effective utilization of knowledge to serve the economy and society. He stressed that this transformation requires the adoption of a robust institutional governance system to regulate performance and ensure transparency, alongside activating methodologies of evaluation and self-assessment for the administrative staff.

   He further explained that the ability to measure and self-correct performance constitutes the cornerstone for developing administrative work, ensuring its sustainability, and aligning it with international standards.
