Report on the Activities of the “Students for Sustainability” Team at Tanta University in the Academic Year 2024/2025
First: Sustainable Agriculture and Green Spaces
• Organizing a specialized workshop on vegetable cultivation techniques within greenhouses.
• Conducting a training course on hydroponic systems as an innovative agricultural solution.
• Launching a large-scale campaign for landscaping and afforestation across the university campus, with broad student participation.
• Implementing an awareness campaign highlighting the importance of expanding green areas and the role of trees in maintaining ecological balance.
Second: Environmental Initiatives and Programs
• Launching the “Our Environment, Our Life” program, aimed at designing and implementing sustainable environmental protection initiatives.
• Organizing an environmental campaign to reduce marine pollution and protect aquatic life.
• Holding a webinar on effective waste management, focusing on the principles of consumption reduction, reuse, and recycling.
Third: Renewable Energy
• Conducting a technical workshop on wind energy generation mechanisms as a clean alternative to conventional energy sources.
Fourth: Arts and Recycling (Waste Reduction)
This area included a series of workshops focused on transforming campus waste into artistic products:
• Cardboard Recycling: A workshop on converting discarded cardboard into artistic creations to reduce paper waste.
• Wood Recycling: A workshop on designing wooden artistic models, which were later displayed in a specialized art exhibition.
• Paper Cup Recycling: An artistic activity aimed at repurposing used paper cups and minimizing paper waste.
• Glass Recycling: A workshop on creating artistic pieces from glass fragments to reduce glass waste within the University.
