Tanta University Enhances Development Collaboration with the “Land of Turquoise” through Signing a Cooperation Protocol with Arish Higher Institute of Engineering
Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President, Tanta University has enhanced its collaboration with the “Land of Turquoise” through the signing of a cooperation protocol with the Higher Institute of Engineering and Technology in Arish.
In a strategic step that underscores the role of Egyptian universities in supporting sustainable development plans and human capital development, Tanta University — under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein — signed a cooperation protocol with the Higher Institute of Engineering and Technology in Arish. This aligns with the directions of the Egyptian state toward achieving the goals of the New Republic and Egypt’s vision 2030, particularly with regard to the development of the Sinai Peninsula as a highly significant strategic pivot.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Tanta University by Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, while the second party was represented by Prof. Medhat Abou El-Yazid El-Kilawi, Dean of the Higher Institute of Engineering and Technology in Arish, in the presence of Prof. Magdy El-Nahhas, Vice Dean of the Institute.
Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President of the University, affirmed that this partnership embodies the university’s commitment to its national responsibility to integrate with educational institutions across various governorates. He further declared that scientific and research partnerships with educational institutions serve as the primary driver for achieving the objectives of this protocol, as they facilitate the exchange of academic and technical expertise necessary for designing training programs that meet the requirements of digital transformation and automation. This, in turn, contributes to preparing a generation of youth capable of competing in the labor market and leading the development process in Sinai. He also stressed that the concerted efforts of both parties will enhance the sustainability of community development activities and open new avenues for cooperation with the private sector to foster innovation and excellence across various fields.
The protocol aims to activate the accumulated academic and training expertise of the Main Center for Sustainable Training at Tanta University to support the development of human capital and enhance the capacities of youth in North Sinai through high-quality training programs that enhance their professional and scientific competencies. The cooperation framework includes the implementation of specialized training courses to qualify faculty members and staff, the provision of expert cadres to strengthen technical and administrative training programs, and the sponsorship of training activities aimed at refining students’ skills and supporting talented and innovative individuals across various fields.
Furthermore, both parties are committed to providing an advanced training environment that meets labor market demands and promotes entrepreneurship, alongside organizing development activities in North Sinai Governorate that reinforce the values of national belonging and identity.
