In Cooperation between Tanta University and Ministry of Youth and Sports, a Medical Convoy Offers Health Care Services of 513 Patients and Gives them Medicaments for Free

Social Activity Department at the General Administration of Youth Welfare, Tanta University, organized a medical convoy in cooperation with the General Administration of Cultural and Voluntary Programs at Ministry of Youth and Sports. The convoy was held in Sigin village located in Kotor district in Gharbia governorate under patronage of Prof. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports; Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President; Prof. Mohamed Hussein, University Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; and Prof. Hamdy Shaaban, Acting Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development. At the convoy, patients were examined and were given medicaments for free.

   Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President, asserted that the university is keen on enhancement of presidential initiative Decent Life; therefore, it organizes comprehensive medical convoys in villages of Gharbia districts. He declared that the convoy in Sigin village was held in collaboration with Ministry of Youth to offer health care services to needy families in the context of celebrating the university’s golden jubilee.

   Moreover, Prof. Hamdy Shaaban, Acting Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, pointed out that 531 patients in the village were examined and were given medicaments for free at the convoy.

   Furthermore, Prof. Mohammed Al-Shebiny, Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, indicated that the convoy included 5 medical specialties namely internal medicine, ophthalmology, orthopedic surgery, and pediatrics with participation of 10 academic staff members from Faculty of Medicine at Tanta University, Mr. Mohammed Ghazy, General Manager of Environmental Projects; and Mr. Maher Saad, General Manager of Community Service.
