Tanta University Poets Shine at the Cairo International Book Fair in the “University Poets Forum”
Tanta University announces its participation with a literary student delegation in the activities of the “University Poets Forum” as part of the cultural program of the Cairo International Book Fair in its current edition. The event will take place next Wednesday, January 28th, 2026, in the “Creative Forum” hall from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This participation is under patronage of Prof. Ahmed Fu’ad, Minister of Culture; Prof. Mohammed Hussain, President of Tanta University; Prof. Al-Sayyed Al-Agouz, Vice President of the University for Education and Students Affairs; and with direct supervision by Dr. Ahmed Magdy, the Executive Director of the Fair.
During the forum, students from Tanta University will present samples of their poetic creations, reflecting the richness of the literary movement within the university campus. The list of participants includes Ahmed Ramadan Mohamed Abdul Rahman from Faculty of Dentistry, Ahmed Mustafa Abu Ghazala and Mustafa Abdul Azim Fuda from Faculty of Medicine, Hanan Ali Mohammed Shebl and Mai Sayyed Ibrahim from Faculty of Arts, in addition to Abdullah Ali Hussain from Faculty of Business, and Amr Tariq from Faculty of Computer and Information. The forum will showcase student talents that combine academic excellence and literary creativity.
The participating poems will undergo a critical analytical review by critics Dr. Huda Ateyya and Dr. Sayyed Shawqy, while the session will be moderated by writer Tariq Omran. The forum aims to present these creative individuals to the public and cultural institutions. In line with the support of the state for young talents, the General Book Authority intends to publish a collective poetry book featuring the outstanding works of university students, including Tanta University poets, as recognition of their efforts and a crowning achievement of their participation in this international event.
The event is the result of coordinating efforts that began with the vision of the founder of the forum, poet Ashraf Abu Galil, and logistical and technical support from the General Administration of Student Affairs at Tanta University under supervision of Dr. Mohammed Al-Qassir, General Director, and poet Mustafa Mansour, Director of Cultural Activities.
