The Futsal Team of Tanta University Wins the Gold Medal in the Universities League, Organized by the Egyptian Universities Sports Federation During Ramadan


   Prof. Mohammed Hussain, President of Tanta University, announced that the futsal team of the university won first place and the gold medal in the Egyptian Universities and Higher Institutes League, organized by the Egyptian Universities Sports Federation during the month of Ramadan, from March 6th to 14th, 2026.
   Prof. Mohamed Hussain praised the team’s major achievement, emphasizing that this well-deserved victory clearly reflects the qualitative progress in sports activities at Tanta University, as well as the fighting spirit and determination of its students to raise the name of the university high. He added that Tanta University spares no effort in supporting and nurturing athletically talented students, believing that sports are an integral part of building a well-rounded university student, in line with Egypt vision to support youth and develop their capabilities.
   For his part, Prof. Al-Sayyed El-Agouz, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, expressed his pride in the team’s outstanding performance, noting that this achievement is the result of a strategic plan set by the university to develop its sports system. He also thanked the General Administration of Student Welfare and the technical and administrative staff supervising the team, appreciating their efforts in preparing the players physically and technically. He noted that the university will continue to provide full support for participation in major events nationwide.
   The students who participated in the championship include: Islam Mohamed, Ali Mahmoud Ali, Mohammed Osama Ali, Abdullah Metwally Asar, Ahmed Ismail Hany, Ali Ibrahim Hassan, Ahmed Osama Abdel Ghafour, Mohammed Ramadan Basiouny, Mo’men Salah Mohammed, Mahmoud Mohammed Al-Sayyed, Karim Ahmed Mousa, Abdullah Abdul Ra’ouf Al-Naggar, Shafik Yousry Rabie’, and Omar Ali Al-Shabasy.
   The team was supervised by Prof. Magdy Wakwak, General Coordinator of Student Activities at the university, and Dr. Mohammed El-Qassir, Director General of Student Welfare.
