Under the Slogan “Salim, Your Health Is Your Brand,” Tanta University Organizes Sports Marathon with More Than 300 Students

Under patronage of Prof. Mohammed Hussain, President of Tanta University, and leadership of Prof. Al-Sayyed Al-Agouz, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, the Medical Administration of Tanta University organized a sports marathon for university students and universities affiliated with the Delta Region Alliance. The event was held in collaboration with the General Administration of Student Welfare and formed part of the health awareness campaign “Salim, Your Health Is Your Brand,” ahead of the campaign’s main event.
The marathon brought together more than 300 male and female students from various university faculties, alongside several deans, vice deans, and student activities leaders. The event highlighted the commitment of the university to encouraging students to adopt a more active and healthy lifestyle while promoting preventive healthcare and making health awareness an integral part of university life.
The event was attended by Prof. Ahmed Al-Araby, Dean of Faculty of Arts, and Prof. Magdy Wakwak, General Coordinator of Student Activities, in addition to several faculty vice deans. Participating students wore matching outfits featuring the campaign’s slogan, “Salim, Your Health Is Your Brand,” creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm, engagement, and community spirit.
Following the marathon, students underwent specialized body composition assessments measuring muscle mass, water, protein, and fat percentages. These assessments aimed to raise awareness of the importance of monitoring physical health indicators and maintaining proper nutrition. They were conducted under the supervision of Prof. Amira Al-Sharqawy, Professor of Rheumatology and Clinical Nutrition at Faculty of Medicine.
The marathon concluded with a ceremony honoring the winning students, who received cash prizes, medals, and commemorative gifts in recognition of their participation and achievements. The awards also aimed to encourage greater student involvement in sports and health-related activities and inspire others to adopt positive habits that support their well-being.
The marathon underscores the broader message of the campaign, which promotes a comprehensive approach to health awareness that extends beyond medical care to encompass daily habits, physical activity, and informed choices that influence students’ health and quality of life.
The campaign conveys a clear message to university students: a healthy mind and a healthy body require sound awareness. Protecting one’s health begins with knowledge and awareness, which are translated into daily choices and behaviors that can make a meaningful difference in youth’s lives.
