While Chairing the Education Affairs Council, Vice President Reviews Academic Program Statistics and Calls for Alignment with Labor Market
Prof. Al-Sayyed Al-Agouz, Vice President of Tanta University for Education and Student Affairs, chaired the sixth session of the sector council for the academic year 2025/2026. The meeting was attended by Prof. Afaf Bassal, Dean of Faculty of Nursing; Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim, Acting Dean of Faculty of Applied Arts; Dr. Nancy Al-Hefnawy, Acting Dean of Faculty of Computer and Information; in addition to vice deans for education and student affairs, Dr. Haitham Al-Koumy, Director General of Education, and Dr. Ghada Arafa, Director of Registration and Study.
At the beginning of the session, Vice President and council members extended their sincere congratulations to Prof. Amgad Salem on the renewal of his appointment as Vice Dean of Faculty of Science for a second term, praising his efforts and wishing him continued success in advancing the educational system within the faculty.
During the meeting, Prof. Al-Agouz reviewed a comprehensive statistical report covering all academic programs and general specializations across the faculties of the university. The report highlighted the numerical distribution of students within each program across different academic levels, as well as the accreditation status of each program. This review aimed to identify the actual needs of the educational process and ensure appropriate support for each specialization to enhance the quality of educational outcomes and meet students’ aspirations.
He also emphasized the need to implement the directives of Prof. Mohammed Hussain, President of Tanta University, following the recent emergency meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities, which discussed mechanisms for applying presidential directives regarding the review and evaluation of all existing academic disciplines. He stressed the importance of aligning academic programs with the evolving needs of the labor market, noting the university commitment to updating curricula and introducing specialized programs that equip graduates with the skills needed to compete locally and internationally.
In addition, the Vice President instructed faculty vice deans to promptly complete all preparations for mid-term exams of the second semester, emphasizing the importance of setting appropriate schedules and ensuring that no exams are held during official holidays or religious occasions.
