Under Patronage of Prof. Mohammed Hussain, President of Tanta University, Vice President Honors Qur’an Memorizers in the Annual Competition of the Faculty of Arts
Under patronage of Prof. Mohammed Hussain, President of Tanta University, Prof. Al-Sayyed Al-Agouz, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, attended a ceremony organized by Faculty of Arts at Tanta University to honor the students who won the annual Holy Qur’an memorization competition.
The event was attended by Prof. Ahmed Al-Araby, Faculty Dean; Prof. Abdul Razeq Al-Koumy, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research; Prof. Hala Nada, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Sobhy Al-Fiqy, Head of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature; and Dr. Mohammed Gamal, Secretary-General of the Faculty, in addition to a number of academic staff, assistant staff, students, and their families.
In his speech, Prof. Al-Sayyed Al-Agouz emphasized the university direction toward increasing financial support for prizes in various student competitions and diversifying activities to include a larger number of students. He also expressed his pride in honoring the memorizers of the Holy Qur’an, praising their linguistic mastery and remarkable vocal performance.
It is worth noting that the competition has been held following the approach adopted by the Department of Arabic Language for more than five years. A total of 120 male and female students from different faculties of the university participated, and the competition lasted for two days. The judging panel, headed by Dr. Zeinab Abul Fadl, with the membership of Dr. Haitham Fahim and Dr. Mohamed Magdy, announced the winners: 18 students from the faculties of Pharmacy, Education, Specific Education, Agriculture, and Arts.
The ceremony concluded with Prof. Al-Sayyed Al-Agouz and Prof. Ahmed Al-Araby honoring the winning students in recognition of their excellence and memorization of the Holy Qur’an, amid great encouragement from the audience.
