Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President, announced that Tanta University is on the shortlist of “Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards” for the top 8 Arab universities in the category of "Leadership and Management Team of the Year" in 2024. The university was selected among many Arab universities that applied for this award.

   Furthermore, Prof. Mahmoud Zaki explained that the university is proud to be on this shortlist for the first time in the category of "Leadership and Management Team", reflecting its outstanding and tangible efforts to enhance its administrative and academic performance in the previous period.

     Moreover, University President added that the concept of excellence is the basis of Egypt's Vision 2030 and the national strategy for higher education and scientific research. He commened the participation of all university sectors, faculties, centers, and administrations in the institutional governance system. He thanked the vice presidents, deans, the university secretary-general, managers of university centers, academic staff members and administrators for their efforts in achieving this accomplishment.

   It is worth noting that this award is granted to universities that have a leadership and management team with creative and exceptional management skills. Tanta University applied for this award by providing the necessary data on its comprehensive administrative project titled “Advancing Institutional Governance.” The data submitted by the university reflect its innovative governance, strategic foresight, and its contributions to setting high standards that enhance its institutional and leadership performance on a global scale.

     Tanta University applied for this award based on the instructions given by Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, University President, and under the supervision of Prof. Dina Abdel Hady, Executive Manager of the Main Center for Institutional Performance. The required data were collected, prepared and sent to the evaluation body using the management by objectives (MBO), the institutional governance system, and the Excellence Award in Institutional Performance for Tanta University faculties.
