Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, issued a decision appointing Prof. Mohamed Hussein Mahmoud, University Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, as Acting President of Tanta University with effect from August 1, 2024, until the procedures for appointing a new President are completed.
It is worth noting that Prof. Mohamed Hussein gained the Bachelor’s degree from Ain Shams University in 1990 with an
assessment of “Excellence with Honors”. Next, he was appointed as a Demonstrator at Faculty of Engineering at Tanta University in 1992. Then, he received his master’s degree in 1996 from Ain Shams University. After that, he gained the PhD degree under joint supervision between Tanta University and the University of North Carolina, USA, in 2002. He was appointed as a Lecturer at Faculty of Engineering at Tanta University in the same year.
