Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University, announced that the university has achieved the international rank of 801-850 for the second year consecutively in NTU Ranking in 2024. Locally, the university gained the sixth rank among nine ranked Egyptian universities.
Moreover, the university was ranked among the top 300 universities in the fields of Pharmacology & Toxicology, advancing about 80 positions to rank 272nd. The university was also included for the first time in the field of Chemical Engineering, achieving the international rank of 287.
It is worth noting that "Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities," also known as NTU Rankings, has been issued by National Taiwan University (NTU) since 2007. NTU Ranking initially included the top 500 universities when it was first published in 2007, expanding to 800 universities in 2017, 1,000 universities in 2022, and 1,200 universities in 2024. NTU Ranking methodology is based on eight performance indicators that collectively represent three different criteria of research performance, including research productivity, research impact, and research excellence.
