Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University, inspected the procedures of the medical examination for new students nominated for enrollment at faculties of Tanta University for the new academic year 2024\2025. The medical examination took place at the headquarters of the Medical Administration at the Medical Campus. At the beginning of the first day, female students from faculties of Medicine, Pharmacy and Dentistry were examined. During the tour, University Acting President was accompanied by Prof. Amr Abdel Monem, General Supervisor of the Medical Administration; Prof. Ramadan Maan, General Supervisor of University Hostels; Prof. Hytham Al-Komy, General Manager of Education at the university; and Mr. Mohamed Al-Kasir, General Manager of the General Administration for Student Welfare.
During the tour, Prof. Mohamed Hussein reviewed the procedures of the medical examination and made sure that all support was provided to the new students of the university. He commended the preparations at the Medical Administration for receiving the students and conducting the medical examination according to the predetermined announced timetable. He affirmed that appropriate waiting areas were prepared for students and their parents. In addition, he indicated that coordination is ongoing with University Hospitals to draw up the executive plan for “Learn with Health” initiative launched by Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research with effect from the upcoming academic year.
Moreover, Prof. Amr Abdel Monem added that the medical examination of the new students includes specialties of internal medicine, dentistry, orthopedic surgery, cardiology and ophthalmology. He pointed out that 5 clinics were prepared and staffed by 20 qualified doctors. He also mentioned that the Medical Administration makes an initial list of students who suffer from chronic diseases to offer them treatment at the university’s expense later.
