As Part of the Presidential Initiative "A New Beginning for Human Development", Workshops on Labor Market Preparation Are Featured in Activities of the Convoys for the First Time

El-Santa district welcomes Tanta University's enhanced developmental convoys with high public turnout

   Tanta University continued launching its enhanced developmental convoys as part of its community service activities under the presidential initiative "A New Beginning for Human Development" in the village of Saheem located in El-Santa district. The convoys provided free medical examinations, distributed medicaments, and organized awareness and guidance symposiums, under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University. The event was attended by Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Ahmed Ghoneim, Dean of Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of University Hospitals’ Board; Prof. Sahar El-Haggar, Vice Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Loay El-Ahwal, Acting Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Hagar Alam El-Din, Executive Manager of Special Economic Centers and Units; and Prof. Amal Abdel Sattar, Executive Manager of the Main Center for Community Services.

  The activities of today's convoys included several areas of human development. In the training and qualification pivot, workshops were introduced on freelancing and job searching, aiming to improve access to suitable employment opportunities that match each individual’s knowledge and skills. Additionally, the workshops introduced concepts of freelance work, which serves as a foundation for small and micro-projects. The Main Center for Sustainable Training showed the free programs it offers to citizens, attracting around 1,100 applicants from villages and districts across the governorate and all ages.

   In the economic empowerment pivot, Prof. Hagar Alam El-Din, Executive Manager of the Main Center for Economic and Special Units, conducted a workshop on women's economic empowerment and enhancing females’ capabilities to increase their chances of finding suitable employment. The Gardens Administration held a workshop on agricultural extension, addressing pest types, control methods, and safety measures for seasonal farming.

   In healthcare and medical services, 862 patients were examined through 15 clinics covering various specialties, including neurosurgery, pediatrics, orthopedics, dermatology, internal medicine, urology, ENT, general surgery, chest diseases, psychiatry, ophthalmology, cardiology, the health initiatives, the lab clinic, and reproductive health. Free medicaments were provided for all cases, and 62 patients were referred to Tanta University hospitals for further checkups and treatment at no cost. Moreover, the convoys held literacy tests for 100 citizens and provided veterinary services to over 2,816 livestock and poultry, with the participation of a large number of academic staff members, doctors, and pharmacists.

   Public service centers under the Main Center for Special Economic Units and Centers held a workshop on healthy nutrition and its role in cancer prevention by Prof. Sohaila Galal, Manager of the Center for Scientific Research and Measurement. Prof. Dalia Hashem, Director of the Pharmaceutical Services Center at Faculty of Pharmacy, delivered a workshop on essential first aid and handling critical and emergency cases.

   Furthermore, Prof. Amal Abdel Sattar also presented health awareness symposiums, including the importance of early detection of breast and uterine cancer, along with reproductive health convoys. In the community awareness pivot, the Main Center for Community Services held a symposium on the importance of birth spacing and choosing the right time for childbirth based on health, social, and economic circumstances.
