Tanta University President Reviews a Report on the University’s Participation in the Presidential Initiative “100 Million Trees”

Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President, reviewed a report presented by Prof. Mahmoud Salim, University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, on participation of the university in the presidential initiative “100 Million Trees” inside campuses of the university and through the comprehensive developmental convoys organized by the university in coordination with Gharbia Governorate.

    Prof. Mahmoud Zaki declared that 1800 fruitful and ornamental trees were planted at the Medical Campus, and that tree planting and organizing non-built areas continue in the next days. He added that 50 fruitful and ornamental trees were planted in Aqua Al-Hessa village in Kafr El-Zayyat district in attendance of a group of executive and popular leaders in the village. He indicated that a plan has been drawn up for planting 50 trees during each comprehensive developmental convoy to implement the initiative in all areas of the governorate.

   Moreover, University President added that it is important to keep environmental resources, and to get renewable and environment-friendly resources of energy so that sustainability can be achieved in all developmental fields. He pointed out that Prof. Nehal Salah Al-Din, Vice Dean of Faculty of Science for Community Service and Environmental Development, has been appointed as a coordinator between Tanta University and Gharbia Governorate for environmental and smart green projects out of the university’s keenness on solidarity of the efforts exerted by the national institutions to enhance the presidential initiatives and the targeted outcomes of Egypt’s sustainable development vision 2030 to help all citizens have a decent life.
