Tanta University President Inaugurates the 39th Annual Conference of the Faculty of Medicine

Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, President of Tanta University, inaugurated today the 39th annual conference of the Faculty of Medicine, titled "Advances in Photonics and Various Medical Fields and Women's Health." The conference is held from July 9 to 12, 2024. The inauguration was attended by Major General Ashraf El-Gendy, Governor of Gharbia, Prof. Mahmoud Eissa, Deputy Governor of Gharbia, Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Hatem Amin, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Mohamed Hantira, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Hossam Zaytoun, the conference coordinator, as well as several deans, popular leaders, members of legislative councils, faculty members, and students of the college.

Major General Ashraf El-Gendy, Governor of Gharbia, expressed his happiness at attending the conference and being among the esteemed professors of the college, emphasizing the important role of university hospitals in providing medical services to the citizens of Gharbia Governorate.

In his speech, Prof. Mahmoud Zaki welcomed Major General Ashraf El-Gendy and all attendees, expressing his pride in the Faculty of Medicine at Tanta University and its human and material capabilities. He highlighted that these achievements are thanks to the great efforts of its esteemed professors. He stressed the importance of the conference for its role in presenting distinguished research in medical sciences, thanking everyone involved in organizing the conference and ensuring its prestigious presentation. He hoped the conference would conclude with strong scientific recommendations to serve sustainable development goals.

Prof. Ahmed Ghoneim welcomed Major General Ashraf El-Gendy, Governor of Gharbia, and Prof. Mahmoud Eissa, Deputy Governor of Gharbia, congratulating them on the trust placed in them by the political leadership. He emphasized the longstanding tradition of the Faculty of Medicine at Tanta University and its university hospitals, noting it is the fifth oldest medical school in the country. The faculty includes 3,000 faculty members and boasts qualified medical teams to meet the increasing demand for medical services provided by the university hospitals. He pointed out that scientific research is a main pillar in developing the capabilities of faculty members and doctors working in hospitals.

It is noteworthy that the conference, held from July 9 to 12, includes more than 29 scientific sessions and 20 workshops covering more than 35 specialties in academic and clinical branches of medicine, conducted concurrently over two days. The conference also includes three student sessions and two scientific research sessions for students and young researchers, along with 15 comprehensive sessions covering the latest developments in various medical specialties.

At the conclusion of the conference activities, Prof. Ahmed Ghoneim presented the conference shield to Major General Ashraf El-Gendy, Governor of Gharbia, Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President, Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Hatem Amin, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Mahmoud Eissa, Deputy Governor of Gharbia.
