Under the auspices of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University, participated in the closing ceremony of the first phase of the "Tamkeen" (Empowerment) Initiative. The event was held at Deir El-Bahari (Hatshepsut Temple) in Luxor Governorate and was attended by Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Prof. Ahmed Heno, Minister of Culture; Mr. Mohamed Gobran, Minister of Labor; Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education; Engr. Abdel Mottaleb Emara, Governor of Luxor; and Prof. Iman Kareem, General Supervisor of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities. Representatives from East London University, Texas University, and AMIDEAST Egypt also attended as project partners.
According to a statement by Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the event was attended by a group of university presidents, representatives of Ministry of Higher Education, managers of centers for supporting students with disabilities, and several representatives of relevant organizations and entities.
The celebration included a musical performance by soprano Farrah El-Dibany, as well as artistic and musical segments performed by students with special needs. Additionally, the Reda Band for Folklore presented cultural performances alongside performances by the General Authority for Cultural Palaces. A documentary film highlighting the efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education in supporting students with special needs was screened, along with brief motivational messages for the students.
