Prof. Mohamed Hussein Chairs an Expanded Meeting of the Higher Committee for International Rankings at Tanta University

    Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, convened an expanded meeting of the Higher Committee for International Rankings at the University Administration Headquarters. The meeting aimed to review current indicators and discuss future plans intended to enhance the university’s position in various global rankings, while ensuring the sustainability of academic and research development.

    The meeting was attended by the university’s vice presidents and members of the Higher Committee, including Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Hatem Amin, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Prof. El-Sayed El-Agooz, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; and Prof. Mohamed Hantira, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of University Hospitals.

    Prof. Mohamed Hussein emphasized the university’s strong commitment to exerting all possible efforts to achieve new and successive breakthroughs in international rankings. He noted that the recent advancements were not coincidental, but the result of persistent work and dedicated efforts invested over several years. The university president added that the current success is grounded in the provision and meticulous verification of data at the highest quality standards, alongside reliance on specialized teams across all sectors.

    Prof. Mohamed El-Sheshtawy, Director of the University Center for International Ranking, delivered a detailed presentation on Tanta University’s standing in various international and regional rankings. He highlighted the university’s tangible progress in a number of global and specialized rankings, as well as its achievement of leading positions in multiple fields. He confirmed that these outcomes clearly reflect the development of the university’s academic, research, and institutional performance in recent years. Prof. El-Sheshtawy also stated that data for most targeted international rankings had been submitted, while preparations are currently underway for the documentation of other rankings according to the specific timelines set for each.

    The meeting included an in-depth discussion of several vital proposals supporting the university’s international ranking indicators. Foremost among these was the sustainability file and the transformation of the campus into an environmentally friendly green space in line with international standards. Additionally, the digital presence of the university on the Internet was reviewed, along with the development of official websites to ensure easy access to research outputs and scientific achievements, thereby contributing to the improvement of the university’s global evaluation in visibility and digital outreach indicators.

    It is noteworthy that the meeting was also attended by Prof. Wesam Salah, Executive Director of the Main Center for Institutional Performance; Prof. Nada El-Shenawy, Director of the Main Center for Electronic and Knowledge Services; Prof. Hagar El-Din, Executive Director of the Main Center for Special Units and Centers; Prof. Amal Abdel Sattar, Director of the Main Center for Community Services; Prof. Shahira Sharaf El-Din, Director of the Main Center for International Relations and Affairs of Expatriates; and Prof. Mohamed El-Sheshtawy, Director of the University Center for International Ranking. The attendees reviewed performance reports for each sector and aligned them with international standards.
