Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, attended today the closing ceremony of the “University President’s Football Cup” for the 2025/2026 academic year. The event was held in an enthusiastic atmosphere marked by distinguished student participation. Also attending the ceremony were Prof. El-Sayed El-Agouz, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Mona El-Aasar, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Prof. Ahmed El-Araby, Dean of the Faculty of Arts; and Prof. Nancy El-Hefnawy, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information. The celebration was further attended by several vice deans, Prof. Magdy Wakouk, General Coordinator of Student Activities at the University, Prof. Mohamed El-Kosseir, General Director of the General Administration of Student Welfare, in addition to a distinguished gathering of faculty members and university administrative leaders.
The final match brought together the teams of the Faculty of Computers and Information and the Faculty of Pharmacy, in a match characterized by excitement and competitiveness, as the original time ended in a draw, before penalty kicks decided the match in favor of the Faculty of Pharmacy team, to be crowned champion of the tournament. The final results of the tournament resulted in the Faculty of Pharmacy obtaining first place, while the Faculty of Computers and Information came in second place, and the Faculty of Arts obtained third place, while the Faculty of Sports Sciences obtained fourth place.
Prof. Mohamed Hussein emphasized that the University President’s Cup serves as an important opportunity to promote the values of teamwork, discipline, and the development of well-rounded student personalities. He stressed the University’s commitment to providing all necessary support and resources to nurture talented and distinguished students. He further noted that Tanta University places student activities, particularly sports, among its highest priorities, in alignment with the Egyptian state’s vision for human development and youth empowerment. He also expressed his pride in the tournament’s outstanding organization, as well as the exemplary technical and ethical levels demonstrated by students throughout the competition, extending his congratulations to the Faculty of Pharmacy team for winning this year’s championship title.
For his part, the Vice President of the University expressed his appreciation to all participating faculties and teams for contributing to this distinguished sporting event. He reaffirmed the Education Sector’s commitment to organizing regular activities that provide students with positive outlets for their energy while discovering and developing athletic talent. He also extended his gratitude and appreciation to the General Administration of Student Welfare, the organizing committee, and the faculty administrations for their significant efforts in presenting the tournament in such an honorable and distinguished manner befitting the name and stature of Tanta University.
