Professor Mohamed Hussein Mahmoud, President of Tanta University, has issued a decision assigning Professor Mahmoud Farouk Selim, Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, to carry out the duties of Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development. The assignment will remain in effect until a presidential decree is issued appointing a Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development.
Professor Mohamed Hussein Mahmoud emphasized that Tanta University attaches great importance to the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, considering it one of the University's principal pillars in serving the local community, strengthening partnerships with state institutions and civil society organizations, and supporting developmental, healthcare, and environmental initiatives aimed at addressing the needs of citizens across Gharbia Governorate and the Nile Delta region.
The University President further stated that the coming period will witness the continued development of the sector's programs and activities, the expansion of developmental, medical, and public awareness convoys, and the strengthening of the role of the University's faculties, centers, and special units in delivering impactful community services. These efforts are aligned with the Egyptian state's vision for sustainable development and Egypt Vision 2030.
For his part, Professor Mahmoud Farouk Selim expressed his appreciation for the confidence placed in him by Professor Mohamed Hussein Mahmoud, President of the University. He affirmed his commitment to working collaboratively with all sectors and faculties of the University to further strengthen the University's role in community service and environmental development, advance initiatives that enhance the quality of services provided to the community, and reinforce Tanta University's standing as a leading institution in education, research, and sustainable development
