Tanta University Continues Its Community Leadership with a Comprehensive Development Convoy to the Village of "Dafra," Providing Distinguished Medical Services to 746 Citizens

   Based on the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to support citizens in the villages of rural Egypt, and in line with the vision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to develop comprehensive development convoys, as well as within the framework of Tanta University's pioneering role in serving the community and developing the environment, the comprehensive medical convoy organized by the university was launched in cooperation with the presidential initiative "Decent Life."

   The convoy was conducted in the village of "Dafra," affiliated with Tanta Center, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, and in the presence and supervision of Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.

   The convoy witnessed a significant turnout from the residents of the village and neighboring villages. It succeeded in conducting medical examinations and providing free treatment to 746 cases across various medical specialties. In addition, 64 cases were referred to university hospitals to complete examinations and undergo the necessary surgical procedures when required.

   Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, emphasized that the continued launch of these comprehensive medical convoys reflects the university's full commitment to its societal and national responsibilities. He noted that these efforts represent a true embodiment of the political leadership's directives regarding the importance of uniting all efforts to provide a decent life for citizens, particularly in villages and areas most in need.

   The University President further highlighted that the sustainable partnership with the presidential initiative "Decent Life" enables the university to utilize all its human, scientific, and medical capabilities to serve the people of Gharbia Governorate. He pointed out that the convoy's role is not limited to providing free medical examinations and treatment within the village; rather, it extends to ensuring the continuity of healthcare services by transferring critical and chronic cases to university hospitals for advanced treatment and necessary surgical operations, free of charge and with the highest possible medical standards.

   For his part, Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, stated that the University's Community Service Sector is developing an integrated plan to provide medical and awareness services to all targeted villages and centers across Gharbia Governorate.

   He explained that the convoy witnessed effective integration among the University's various faculties and hospitals. It was not limited to providing medical services and dispensing medications free of charge; it also included awareness initiatives and educational seminars for villagers to enhance their health and community awareness. He praised the ongoing cooperation and coordination with the Decent Life Foundation and the governorate's executive bodies, which contribute directly to overcoming obstacles and delivering services to citizens with the highest possible quality.

   The examined and transferred cases included the following:

• Neurosurgery Department: 24 cases (2 cases transferred).

• Pediatrics Department: 74 cases (2 cases transferred).

• Orthopedics Department: 122 cases (8 cases transferred).

• Dermatology Department: 77 cases (4 cases transferred).

• Internal Medicine Department: 62 cases (1 case transferred).

• Urology Department: 24 cases (3 cases transferred).

• Ear, Nose, and Throat Department: 57 cases (13 cases transferred).

• Chest Department: 28 cases (2 cases transferred).

• Ophthalmology Department: 107 cases (24 cases transferred).

• Cardiovascular Department: 16 cases (2 cases transferred).

   Additionally, pharmaceutical services, including medication dispensing, were provided to 61 beneficiaries, while 94 cases benefited from the awareness initiatives implemented by the convoy.
