Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, opened today the 11th International Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Law, under the title “Justice and Digital Transformation”, in the presence of Prof. Hatem Amin, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law, the Faculty's deputies, and a number of Faculty members and researchers at the college. 

   During his speech, Prof. Mohamed Hussein stressed the importance of the conference, which embodies one of the most important issues that occupy societies and countries in the modern era, in light of the accelerating digital revolution and the successive developments in artificial intelligence technologies and smart systems. He added that the new republic, led by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, has given unprecedented attention to digital transformation, as it is a fundamental pillar for building a modern state that relies on knowledge, improves the efficiency of its institutions, and enhances the quality of services provided to citizens He added that the justice sector has witnessed qualitative steps in recent years towards developing the digital infrastructure, which contributes to achieving prompt justice, enhancing transparency, facilitating access to judicial services, and consolidating the principles of the rule of law. 

   The university president added that the importance of the conference lies in discussing the dimensions of digital transformation in the justice system and the related legislative, judicial, technical, and ethical issues. It also addresses the future of artificial intelligence in supporting judicial work, data protection, cybersecurity, digital governance, and other topics that have become a major focus in developing legal and judicial systems at the national and international levels.

   He pointed out that Tanta University believes universities are not just institutions for transferring knowledge; rather, they are national houses of expertise and major partners in shaping the future. Therefore, they are keen to organize scientific conferences that address issues of national priority and contribute to providing scientific visions and applicable recommendations that support decision-makers and link scientific research to the needs of society.

   He further affirmed that the Faculty of Law at Tanta University, throughout its long history, has been able to consolidate its position as one of the leading faculties in the field of legal studies and provide distinguished scientific contributions to the development of legal thought.

   He extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law and President of the Conference; Prof. Ramzi Al-Sheikh, Rapporteur of the Conference; the members of the Organizing Committee and Scientific Committees; and everyone who contributed to the preparation of this distinguished scientific event.

   Prof. Hatem Amin added that the holding of the "Justice and Digital Transformation" conference comes at a very important time to diagnose the new legal challenges imposed by the information revolution, praising the broad international and Arab participation of researchers and judges, expressing his aspiration to find in the conference a rich scientific environment, and that this participation will be the beginning of fruitful scientific and research cooperation that contributes to unifying legislative and judicial visions at the Arab and international levels, appreciating the scientific efforts and organizational and logistical support provided by those in charge of the conference And the jury, noting that it was decided to publish the accepted research in a special issue of the peer-reviewed journal "Spirit of Laws" to document these distinguished research efforts. 

   Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law and President of the Conference, said that the 11th International Scientific Conference of the Faculty comes as an extension of the scientific and national role played by the Faculty of Law at Tanta University in discussing contemporary legal issues, stressing that choosing the title «Justice and Digital Transformation» reflects the Faculty's awareness of the importance of keeping pace with the rapid transformations witnessed by the world in the fields of technology and artificial intelligence. The challenges and opportunities it poses require developing the legislative and judicial system in a way that achieves a balance between technical development and the protection of rights and freedoms. 

   The conference president extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, for his continuous support for the scientific and research activities at the university, and to Prof. Hatem Amin, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, for his continuous support for the success of the conference.
