Tanta University President Witnesses the Arrival of the Torch of the 14th Youth Week for Egyptian Universities and Higher Institutes

    Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, witnessed the arrival of the torch «Youth Week of the 14 Universities and Higher Institutes» in its fourteenth stop, as part of its promotional tour in Egyptian universities for the national event hosted by Minya University during the period from September 25 to 30, 2026.


    The university president was accompanied in receiving the delegation by Prof. Al-Sayed Al-Ajouz, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Magdy Wakouk, General Coordinator of Student Activities, and Prof. Mohamed Al-Qaseer, Director General of Student Care, amidst a festive atmosphere from academic leaders and students. The torch tour in Tanta included a visit to the new surgical hospital and the (Tanta - Kafr El-Sheikh) International Road as the most important national projects in Gharbia Governorate.


    Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, stressed that hosting the week's torch reflects the university's constant keenness to support youth and national forums that bring together Egyptian university students within a framework of fair competition and cultural and sports exchange, stressing the university's keenness to organize a field tour for the torch that included its most prominent landmarks and modern facilities such as the new surgical hospital, in addition to the (Tanta - Kafr El-Sheikh) International Road as the most important national projects in Gharbia Governorate To highlight the extent of development and achievements witnessed by the governorate, stressing the readiness of the Tanta University delegation to participate effectively and distinguishedly in the various activities of the week in Minya. 


    The University President also stressed the importance of the Universities and Higher Institutes Youth Week in being one of the largest and most prestigious comprehensive national forums for Egyptian university students. Its importance is not limited to the sports aspect only, but extends to include multiple academic, social, and developmental dimensions, including enhancing national cohesion and identity, discovering and refining skills and talents, exchanging experiences and visions, investing in the energies of youth, and highlighting projects and institutional development.


    For his part, Prof. Al-Sayed Al-Ajouz explained that the arrival of the torch to Tanta University today is a message of integration between Egyptian universities at the regional level, explaining that the events represent a great opportunity to discover, support and nurture talented male and female students at the Egyptian University.


    The torch relay was supervised by a delegation from Minya University, which included Walid Abdel Qawi, Director General of the General Administration of Student Care, Mohsen Sayed Ramadan, University Communications Officer, and Dr. Mohamed Khalaf Allah, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Sports Sciences and torchbearer, in addition to students Asem Mohamed Bakri Hussein and Shawkat Ashour from the Faculty of Sports Sciences. The delegation continued to implement the promotional and educational program accompanying the tour in cooperation with Tanta University.


    The torch of «the 14 Universities and Higher Institutes Youth Week» continues its promotional journey among Egyptian universities; It heads to its next stop at Zagazig University, continuing its journey that aims to enhance national awareness and consolidate the values of brotherhood among university youth, in preparation for the official launch of the week's activities at Minya University under the slogan "From the heart of Upper Egypt.. We are creative.
