Prof. Mohammed Hussein: The forum embodies the university's vision of transforming students' ideas and research outputs into applicable and investable projects.

Prof. Mahmoud Selim: An integrated program to qualify projects, select the best in 8 axes, and present them to industry representatives and business owners

    Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, announced the launch of the activities of the Tanta University Forum for Professional Development, Innovation and Internationalization «TUI² FORUM 2026» from the Professional Development Center at the Faculty of Engineering, under the patronage of Prof. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and with the participation of 58 projects and innovative ideas presented by 25 public, private and national universities and Egyptian higher education institutes .This is within the framework of the university's orientation towards supporting innovation and entrepreneurship and strengthening partnerships between the academic sector and the industrial and production sectors.

    The launch of the events was attended by Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs; Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Mona Al-Aasar, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and General Coordinator of the Forum; Prof. Yasser Al-Samdouni, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs; Prof. Ramadan Maan, General Supervisor of University Cities; Prof. Yasser Abdo, Executive Director of the Center for the Care of Gifted and Innovative People; Prof. Mohamed El-Shishtawy, Executive Director of the Main Center for Sustainability; Prof. Naira Abdel Dayem, Director of the Professional Development Center at the Faculty of Commerce; Prof. Mohamed Samir, Director of the Professional Development Center at the Faculty of Science; and Prof. Essam Al-Baali, Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Intellectual Property.

    The event was also attended by members of the University’s Professional Development Center teams, as well as a number of graduates and students from Egyptian universities and higher institutes.

    Prof. Mohamed Hussein stressed that the forum comes in implementation of the political leadership's vision to maximize the benefit from the outcomes of education and scientific research and link them to the needs of the labor market and the national economy, and build innovative systems and sustainable partnerships that bring together universities in the industrial and production sectors, and in line with the orientations of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, led by Prof. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, towards supporting innovation and entrepreneurship and transforming knowledge into real economic and development value.

        The University President added that supporting innovators and individuals with promising ideas represents one of Tanta University’s strategic pathways. He explained that the University seeks to provide an integrated environment that enables students and researchers to move their ideas from the conceptual stage to models and projects that are viable for implementation, growth, and investment.

    He also praised the integration among the University’s various sectors, faculties, centers, and units, as well as the material, technical, and human resources they provide, which are qualified to offer support, guidance, and training to students and innovators. This, he noted, enhances their ability to compete and respond effectively to the rapidly changing demands of the labor market.

    The university president pointed out that the forum is witnessing wide participation from companies and representatives of various industrial and economic sectors, stressing that the university adopts a model based on moving from qualification to innovation, and from innovation to partnership and impact, which provides distinguished projects with real opportunities to communicate with the business and industry community.

    For his part, Prof. Mahmoud Selim explained that the forum's activities extend through an integrated program that includes three main stages, starting with receiving and evaluating the submitted projects and ideas, followed by qualifying students and project owners to prepare integrated business models and develop the technical, economic and marketing aspects of their ideas, reaching the final stage that includes selecting distinguished and winning projects in eight main axes and presenting them to business owners and representatives of the industrial and investment sectors.

    The Vice President of the University added that the final phase aims to open actual paths for promising projects to obtain support and sponsorship, build partnerships, and development and investment opportunities, especially projects capable of providing applicable solutions that contribute to supporting the national economy, providing new investment opportunities, and transforming young people's ideas into products, services, and projects with added value.

    Throughout its activities, the forum will witness a series of professional development, qualification and entrepreneurship programs, project presentations and judging, direct meetings with representatives of industry and companies, and an exhibition of innovations and opportunities, in addition to building partnerships between the university and the business sector, which will enhance Tanta University's role in supporting the innovation system and linking education and scientific research to development needs and the labor market.
