A new Arab achievement for Tanta University.. Researcher Reham Qanuma, Faculty of Pharmacy, wins first place in the Association of Arab Universities Award for Best Doctoral Thesis 2026

    Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, announced that researcher Reham Ezzat Abdullah Qannouma won first place in the Association of Arab Universities Award for the best doctoral thesis for the year 2026 in the field of basic and applied sciences, on the topics of artificial intelligence applications, for her thesis entitled «New Horizons for Quilt Detection of Selected Pharmaceutical Compounds», in a new scientific achievement that enhances Tanta University's position on the Arab scientific research map.


    Prof. Mohamed Hussein extended his sincere congratulations to the researcher on this distinguished achievement, stressing that the fact that one of the researchers at Tanta University won first place in a prestigious scientific award at the level of Arab universities represents a source of pride for the university and its employees, and confirms the research cadres it possesses capable of competing and achieving excellence. He thanked Prof. Hatem Amin, Vice President of the University for postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Mona Al-Aasar, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy.


    The university president added that this achievement comes as a culmination of Tanta University's strategy to advance the scientific research system, support distinguished researchers, encourage interdisciplinary and applied studies related to modern technologies and artificial intelligence, and transform scientific research into a real force that supports innovation and contributes to providing scientific solutions to priority issues and challenges. The university places supporting young researchers at the top of its priorities, and works to provide an academic and research environment that stimulates creativity and innovation In addition to encouraging distinguished scientific publishing and participation in prestigious research awards and competitions regionally and internationally, he stressed that the successive successes achieved by Tanta University cadres reflect the quality of its research outputs and the success of its strategic plans in building the capabilities of researchers and enhancing their competitiveness.


    For his part, Prof. Hatem Amin congratulated the researcher, pointing out that obtaining first place in the Association of Arab Universities Award represents Arab recognition of the value and quality of scientific research produced by Tanta University, explaining that the postgraduate studies and research sector works according to an integrated vision that aims to empower researchers, support innovative research ideas, enhance applied and interdisciplinary research, and expand the use of modern technologies and artificial intelligence in various scientific fields In order to raise the quality of research production and enhance the university's presence in regional and international scientific forums.


    The Vice President of the University stressed that honoring the researcher at the level of the Association of Arab Universities represents a new incentive for all young researchers at the university to continue scientific and research excellence, stressing the keenness to provide all means of support that help them transform their research ideas into distinguished scientific outputs capable of competing and influencing.


    Prof. Mona Al-Aasar, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, expressed her happiness with this achievement, congratulating the researcher on her scientific excellence, stressing that winning a high-level Arab award reflects the scientific effort expended, the quality of research, and the trend towards employing modern technologies in pharmaceutical studies.


    She added that this honor represents an honorable model of the achievements that researchers at Tanta University can achieve when scientific competence is integrated with a university environment that supports research and innovation, stressing the continued support and encouragement of researchers to develop qualitative research ideas of scientific and applied value, and openness to modern fields, most notably applications of artificial intelligence in pharmaceutical sciences.


    The General Secretariat of the Association of Arab Universities congratulated Tanta University on this distinguished scientific achievement, stressing that the honor reflects the excellence of the university's research outputs and its contribution to supporting scientific research and innovation.
