Today, Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, witnessed the arbitration of the projects participating in the Tanta University Forum for Professional Development, Innovation and Internationalization «TUI2 FORUM 2026 – Business Tank», in the presence of Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Acting Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs; Prof. Al-Sayed Al-Agouz, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Mona Al-Aasar, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; A group of faculty members, directors of specialized centers and units; and representatives of companies and institutions participating in the forum.

    Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, stressed that the university pays great attention to supporting innovation and applied scientific research among young people, noting that the forum represents a real platform for linking student research outputs and innovations to the needs of the labor market and the requirements of sustainable development.

    The university president added that Tanta University does not only provide academic support to innovators, but also works through its partnerships with the industrial and development sectors to provide an incubating environment that helps transform innovative ideas and student projects into applicable solutions and products, promising economic projects and competitive startup companies, which contributes to supporting the state's move towards building a knowledge economy based on creativity and innovation and achieving the goals of Egypt's Vision 2030.

    Prof. Mohamed Hussein pointed out that Tanta University will host the closing events of the forum tomorrow with wide participation from business owners and representatives of companies, industrial and investment institutions. The events will witness the announcement of winning and distinguished projects, and provide an opportunity for project owners to present their ideas to the business and industry community, which will open the way for providing opportunities for sponsorship, incubation, support and investment for promising projects, and transforming innovative models and ideas into projects that can be implemented and grown in the market.

    The university president stressed that the closing events represent a practical step to translate the forum's objectives into tangible results, by building direct bridges between innovators and the productive and investment sectors, explaining that the university aims for the winning projects to be a starting point for real partnerships that support innovation and entrepreneurship, and provide growth opportunities for projects with economic feasibility and societal impact.

    The event featured a discussion of 42 innovative projects, with the participation of 137 male and female students. Students competed across nine main themes, including digital transformation and artificial intelligence, economics, entrepreneurship and investment, sustainability and climate action, smart cities, smart agriculture and food security, healthcare and medical technology, innovation for people with disabilities, industry and advanced technology, human development, professional development and inclusion, creative industries, and cultural identity.

    The forum was characterized by wide participation from 25 Egyptian universities and institutes, including Cairo University, Tanta University, Mansoura University, Fayoum University, Kafr El-Sheikh University, Damanhour University, Suez University, Kafr El-Sheikh National University, New Mansoura University, Sadat National University, and the Egyptian University for E-Learning; Delta University for Science and Technology; Al-Salam University in Egypt; Horus University in Egypt; Taiba Technological University; Samannoud Technological University; Assiut International Technological University; Burj Al Arab Technological University; and Fayoum International Technological University; Beni Suef Technological University.

    In addition to a number of higher institutes and academies, including the Future Academy, Modern Academy, the Higher Institute of Administration in Mahalla al-Kubra, the Misr Higher Institute of Commerce and Computers, and the Gezira Higher Institute.

    The arbitration work was conducted through specialized scientific and technical committees that included an elite group of faculty members and experts, to evaluate ideas and projects according to precise criteria based on innovation, applicability, societal impact, economic feasibility, and development and sustainability potential.
