In implementation of the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi regarding enhancing awareness, preserving the Egyptian state, and consolidating confidence in its institutions, Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, stressed that building youth awareness represents an integral part of the national responsibility of Egyptian universities, and that the role of the university is not limited to education and preparing graduates, but extends to building the personality of the student capable of understanding, analyzing, and distinguishing between correct and incorrect information.

The University President directed the deans of colleges and faculty members to allocate an appropriate space at the beginning of lectures and student meetings to address issues and public affairs, provide information from reliable sources, and correct inaccurate information or rumors that are circulated, while opening the way for students to dialogue, discuss, and ask their questions freely and responsibly.

Prof. Mohammed Hussein emphasized that confronting rumors begins with providing accurate information and building young people's ability to think, analyze, and verify information. He emphasized the importance of listening to students, interacting with their opinions and questions, monitoring any problems or shortcomings they raise, and working to study and address them, thus enhancing trust and communication between young people and state institutions.

He explained that Tanta University pays great attention to building awareness through the Awareness Building Center, the Education and Student Affairs Sector, student care activities and various colleges, directing at the same time to expand the organization of field visits to national projects and presidential initiatives, most notably the «Decent Life» initiative, to enable students to learn directly about the development efforts being achieved on the ground.

The university president pointed out that Tanta University includes about 115 thousand male and female students, which doubles its national responsibility in preparing generations that possess knowledge, skills and awareness, stressing that supporting the Egyptian state is achieved through each institution performing its responsibility efficiently, and building an aware person capable of positive participation in the development process and preserving the capabilities of his country.

Prof. Mohamed Hussein stressed that Tanta University will continue to fulfill its mission as one of the national state institutions in the fields of education, scientific research, community service, and awareness building, which supports the efforts of the Egyptian state and enhances the ability of young people to understand their country's issues and interact with them consciously and responsibly.

This came during a meeting of Tanta University Council headed by Prof. Mohamed Hussein, and attended by Prof. Fouad Harras and Prof. Abdel Hakim Abdel Khaleq, former presidents of the university; Prof. Hatem Amin, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Prof. El-Sayed El-Ajouz, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Acting Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs; deans of faculties, Counselor Khairy Amara, Legal Advisor of the University; and Accountant Ahmed Rashad, Secretary General of the University.
