The President of Tanta University participates in the celebration of the October victories and the 228th National Day of Gharbia Governorate


    Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, participated in the celebration organized by Gharbia Governorate on the occasion of the fifty-third anniversary of the glorious October victories and the 228th National Day of the governorate, in the presence of Major General Dr. Alaa Abdel Moati, Governor of Gharbia.


    This was attended by Eng. Hossam Abdo, Deputy Governor of Gharbia, Bishop Paula, Bishop of Tanta and its dependencies, Major General Mohamed Mansour Shaeer, Secretary General of the Governorate, Brigadier General Wael Fathy, Military Advisor, Mr. Khaled Al-Arfi, Assistant Secretary General of the Governorate, Colonel Fares Al-Ashouh, members of the Houses of Representatives and the Senate, and a group of executive, religious and popular leaders.


    Prof. Muhammad Hussein explained that the coincidence of the National Day of Gharbia Governorate with the October Victory celebrations embodies the values of will, belonging, and work for the homeland, noting that what the October heroes achieved will remain a source of inspiration for generations, and an incentive to continue the process of construction and development.


    The university president added that Tanta University is keen to be an effective partner for Gharbia Governorate and national state institutions, by employing its scientific and research capabilities and academic expertise in supporting development plans, building human capabilities, and serving the community, which contributes to achieving the goals of Egypt's Vision 2030 and the objectives of the National Agenda for Sustainable Development.


    Major General Dr. Alaa Abdel-Moaty, Governor of Gharbia, stressed that the celebration of the National Day coincides with the anniversary of the October victories, confirming that the will of the Egyptians was and will remain capable of overcoming challenges, pointing out that October 7th restores a national stance to the people of Gharbia, while October 6th embodies a national epic that restored Egypt's pride and dignity. He explained that the responsibility of the current stage is to transform this spirit into continuous work, saying: «Our responsibility is to work more, accomplish more, and always live up to the citizen's trust», stressing the continuation of development efforts in education, health, roads and facilities, supporting industry, agriculture and investment, developing villages and cities and improving the level of services.


    The celebration included a presentation of the governorate's achievements and projects, various artistic and national segments, in addition to honoring a number of distinguished people and winners in various fields
