Faculty of Engineering Receives the Participating Students in “A Child’s University” Program


   Faculty of Engineering at Tanta University received today the participating students in the training program, “A Child’s University” under patronage of Prof. Mohammed Ashor, Minister higher Education and Scientific Research; Dr. Gena Al-Feqy, Acting Chairperson of Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT); and Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President; in attendance of Prof. Mahmoud Salim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; under supervision and coordination of Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Faculty Dean; Prof. Walaa Nour, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Abdullah Khedr, Head of Chemistry Department at Faculty of Engineering and General Coordinator of the Program; and Dr. Eman Al-Ghamry, Lecturer at Engineering Physics and Mathematics Department and Coordinator of the Program at the Faculty.
   For his part, Prof. Mahmoud Zaki highlighted the necessity of the program due to its role in developing the awareness of the students and shaping their abilities, adding that adopting the program comes out of the role played by the university in serving the community, supporting the strategic plan of the state, and building the new republic.
  Further, Prof. Mahmoud Salim asserted keenness of the university on developing the skills of the participating students, discovering the talented, offering training opportunities, and ensuring interaction with academic staff to prepare a generation of innovators able to lead the future of the homeland.
    Furthermore, Prof. Ahmed Nassr, Faculty Dean, added that the Faculty received today the participating students and their parents. Then, a presentation about the different departments of the faculty was given to explain the study of each department, and the job opportunities offered for the graduates. He indicated that the activities and applications were prepared for the students in the field of mathematics. After that, they made a tour at the Faculty to visit Robotics and Smart Simulation Unit, production workshops, and labs of the Faculty. The children were very pleased and were greatly interested in the activities they conducted like recycling. At the end of the tour, memorial photos were taken for the children.
     Moreover, Prof. Abdullah Khedr indicated that A Child’s University Program is one of the national projects which contributes to preparing and developing the children’s skills for a prominent future.
