Acting President of Tanta University Welcomes Aero MEC Team that Gained Rookie of the Year Award at the 8th International Innovation Competition Finals Held by the Military Technical College

   Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University, received today the Aero MEC team, representing the university from Faculty of Engineering, after they won “Rookie of the Year Award” and achieved fifth place in the finals of the 8th International Innovation Competition Finals 2024 held by the Military Technical College in the field of drones. The competition featured 12 participating teams. The meeting was attended by Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Dean of Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Medhat El-Kilawy, Assistant Professor at Department of Mechanical Power Engineering; and Prof. Hagar Alam El-Din, Assistant Professor at Department of Mechanical Power Engineering, who are the academic supervisors of the student team.

     Prof. Mohamed Hussein commended the performance of the students in the competition, highlighting their academic excellence and their honorable representation of the university. He affirmed that the university is keen on supporting its students in the areas of innovation and entrepreneurship to enhance the quality of education, ensure sustainable development of its outcomes, and promote a culture of competitiveness through participation in local and international competitions. He noted that the university's educational strategies focus on improving the skills, knowledge, and research capabilities of its students to meet labor market demands, whether in terms of employment or establishment of startups. In addition, he congratulated Prof. Medhat El-Kilawy and Prof. Hagar Alam El-Din from Faculty of Engineering, the academic supervisors of the student team, and appreciated their efforts in supervising the students and providing all forms of technical support.

   The honoring included the following students: Abdelrahman El-Sayed Bassyouni El-Sayed Gaballah, a fourth-year student at Mechanical Power Engineering Department; Ibrahim Mohamed Ibrahim Abu El-Gheit, a third-year student at Mechanical Production Engineering Department; Raed Reda Masoud El-Sayed, a fourth-year student at Mechanical Power Engineering Department; Habiba Walid El-Sayed Ahmed Salam, a second-year student at Mechanical Power Engineering Department; Aya Hussein Abdallah Mowafi, a fourth-year student at Mechanical Power Engineering Department; Shehab Bassam Shams El-Din Shahin, a fourth-year student at Mechanical Power Engineering Department; Mona Ahmed Abdel Wahab El-Haddad, a graduate from Mechanical Power Engineering Department, batch of 2024; and Essam Magdy Abdel Wadoud Zahr, a graduate from Mechanical Power Engineering Department, batch of 2024.
