Progressing in World Rankings, Tanta University is Ranked Fifth Locally and 13th in Africa in AD Scientific Index 2024

Tanta University has accomplished a new milestone in world rankings, securing the fifth rank among Egyptian universities and the 13th among listed African universities. It was ranked 930th globally out of 18,537 universities, advancing 578 places from its previous ranking in the AD Scientific Index 2024. Moreover, Tanta University was ranked 13th out of 1,246 African universities, moving up 4 positions from the previous ranking. Among all institutes, universities, and academic and research institutions worldwide, Tanta University was ranked 1,145th out of 24,335 institutions.

   Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University, explained that this achievement proves the quality of scientific research, academic excellence, and enhancement of research and academic outputs at the university. He affirmed that the efforts exerted by university's academic staff members and researchers in producing effective research outputs and publishing in high-impact scientific journals significantly contributed to this distinguished ranking. He congratulated the university's scientists and researchers listed among those with the highest citation and H-index, and extended his gratitude to the former President of the University, Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, and all teams at the university who participated in this achievement.

   In addition, AD Scientific Index ranking included a list of Tanta University's top researchers with the highest citation and H-index, including Prof. Ammar El-Sheikh from Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Mohamed El-Noweihy from Faculty of Science, Prof. Amira Ashour from Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Abdel Fattah Abo Mohra the Faculty of Science, Prof. Sherif Abdel Salam from Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Mustafa El-Sheikh from Faculty of Science, Prof. Yasser Abdo from Faculty of Science, Prof. Ahmed Abdel Azim from Faculty of Science, Prof. Mohamed Osman from Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Al-Refai Kenawy from Faculty of Science, and Prof. Mohamed Labib Salem from Faculty of Science.

   It is worth noting that Tanta University's results in this ranking are based on several indicators, such as the H-index (that measures the productivity and impact of published research), the i10-index, and total citations. These indicators show the scientific impact and productivity of the university's research outputs. AD Scientific Index is a ranking system that assesses universities and institutions according to their scientific performance. It provides a comprehensive and reliable resource for academic preferences and options at all levels, allowing users to compare over 20,000 universities and institutions from 219 countries based on the number of scientists, publications, academic interests, and other detailed analysis results. AD Scientific Index periodically updates university rankings as the H-index, i10-index, and citation numbers are updated every 60 to 90 days, with ranking data primarily collected from the Google Scholar platform.
