Prof. Mohamed Hussein, the Acting President of Tanta University, attended the closing session of the "Career Development Sustainable Business Model" workshop, hosted by the University Career Development Center at the Faculty of Engineering, Tanta University. The workshop was presented by Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, faculty members, Prof. Osama Badr, Academic Advisor for the Faculty of Business
, Prof. Hagar Alam El-Din, Executive Director of the Main Center for Economic Units, and the directors and teams of the centers and volunteers from the faculties of Business, Engineering, and Science.
Prof. Mohamed Hussein opened the workshop by expressing his happiness to be at the University Career Development Center, which aims to bridge the gap between labor market needs and the academic outputs of study programs, along with the cognitive, technical, and skill development of students. He emphasized that under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Egypt has made unprecedented progress in the quality of education and supporting competitiveness in the labor market. This progress has been made through several presidential initiatives targeting youth and higher education institutions. He also highlighted that Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, continuously works to reinforce the role of Egyptian universities in supporting national development projects and presidential initiatives. He pointed out that the University Career Development Centers contribute clearly to preparing graduates for the challenges of the labor market, in line with national development plans. He praised the efforts of the work teams in the centers over the past three years, which have successfully provided services to more than 50,000 students, commending the role of partners and supporting bodies throughout the past period in preparing the work teams. He confirmed continued technical and financial support from the university to ensure the sustainability of services for university students with the same efficiency and performance.
For his part, Prof. Mahmoud Selim presented a presentation detailing the main objectives of the University Career Development Centers’ activities, including the total number of students and graduates benefiting from services, such as technical and skills training, professional workshops, company information sessions, and individual advisory sessions. He reviewed the strategic approaches to formulating the centers' executive plans to ensure their continued success over the past three years and their reach to a larger number of local community members. This was achieved through well-studied marketing plans based on needs analysis within the university and its surrounding community. The presentation also covered the main concepts of building business models and how to formulate mind maps in corporate management according to vision, mission, and strategic goals, while optimizing the use of physical and human resources to ensure productive outcomes that align with actual needs.
