For the First Time… Tanta University Appears in the Times Subject Rankings in the Field of Social Sciences Prof. Mohamed Hussein: The University Featured in Six Subjects in This Year's Rankings

Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University, announced the university's first appearance in the Times Subject Rankings in the field of "Social Sciences." The university was also featured in six main academic subjects for 2025, compared to five subjects in the previous year.


The university's rankings in academic fields for 2025 are as follows:


In the field of "Clinical and Health Sciences," Tanta University ranked 801-1000 globally and 4th locally. The same global and local rankings applied to the two subfields within this category: Medicine and Dentistry, and Other Health Sciences.


In "Computer Science," the university was ranked 601-800 globally and 5th locally.


In "Engineering," Tanta University also ranked 601-800 globally and 3rd locally. It maintained the same global and local rankings across the subfields, including Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, General Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Aeronautical Engineering.


In "Life Sciences," the university ranked 601-800 globally and 4th locally, with the same global and local rankings in two subfields: Agriculture and Forestry, and Biological Sciences. The university also ranked globally in Sports Science at the same level while ranking 3rd locally.


In "Physical Sciences," Tanta University ranked 601-800 globally and 4th locally, maintaining the same global and local rankings in subfields such as Chemistry, Geology, Environmental Sciences, Earth and Marine Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics, and Physics and Astronomy.


For the first time, in the field of "Social Sciences," the university ranked 801-1000 globally and 3rd locally, with the same global and local rankings in the subfields of Communication and Media Studies, Geography, Politics and International Studies, and Sociology.



Prof. Mohamed Hussein expressed his gratitude to Prof. Hatem Amin, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, for this achievement. He emphasized that the university's inclusion in six main academic subjects for 2025 reflects its continuous efforts to enhance its position in international rankings and its commitment to meeting the ranking criteria, which include teaching, research environment, research quality, industry outcomes, and global outlook.


He also stressed the university's dedication to advancing scientific research and improving education quality in alignment with Egypt's Sustainable Development Strategy and Vision 2030.
