In the Presence of the Acting University President: The 18th Scout and Guide Festival for Tanta University Rovers and Guides Kicks Off


Today marked the launch of the 18th Scout and Guide Festival for Tanta University Rovers and Guides, attended by Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of the University, along with faculty deans, vice deans, and Prof. Magdy Wakouk, General Coordinator of Student Activities, with the participation of 12 university faculties.  


In his speech, Prof. Mohamed Hussein expressed his delight at witnessing the university students take part in this annual event, which the university is committed to organizing regularly. He emphasized the university's continuous support for student activities, in line with the directives of Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, who consistently highlights the importance of student activities in developing human capacities and equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in various fields. He extended his gratitude to the faculty deans and vice deans for their unwavering support of student activities and student development, which has contributed to the university's students excelling in various activities and securing top positions in different competitions.  


Prof. Hussein also stressed the significance of the festival in fostering the comprehensive development of students' personalities, nurturing their creative potential, and preparing generations of university students capable of facing future challenges. Additionally, the event plays a vital role in enhancing students' personal and leadership skills, promoting teamwork and university spirit among students, and hosting awareness seminars that enrich their experiences and refine their skills.  


During the festival, Prof. Hussein visited the participating rover clans, listened to students’ explanations about their scouting experiences, and observed the various activities and programs conducted by the scout teams. He commended the participants for their discipline and teamwork and expressed his hope that they would maximize their benefits from the festival to strengthen their personalities and showcase their best talents and abilities.  


Prof. Magdy Wakouk added that the festival aims to develop leadership and cooperative skills among university students. The program includes numerous activities such as scouting events, community service and public welfare projects, religious, cultural, artistic, and sports activities, among others. He highlighted that 12 rover teams from different faculties are participating in the event, fostering an ideal environment for experience exchange and cultural interaction. Moreover, he confirmed that a strong team would be selected to represent the university in various competitions, reinforcing loyalty, belonging, and the promotion of volunteerism.  


The festival concluded with the presentation of the festival shield to Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of the University, Prof. Magdy Wakouk, General Coordinator of Student Activities, and Mohamed El-Kosseir, Director General of the University’s Student Welfare Administration.
