The Conclusion of the Official Field Visit of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation to the Faculty of Arts, Tanta University
Today, the Faculty of Arts at Tanta University witnessed the conclusion of the final field visit by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation. The visit, which lasted for three days from Sunday to Tuesday, was attended by Prof. Mamdouh Al-Masry, Acting Dean of the Faculty; Prof. Abdel-Razzaq Al-Koumi, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Prof. Raafat Abdel-Razzaq, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Hala Nada, Director of the Quality Assurance Unit; Prof. Ghada Roshdy, Head of the Archaeology Department; in addition to program coordinators, faculty members, teaching assistants, and students from the department.
Prof. Mamdouh Al-Masry expressed his gratitude to Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University, for his continuous support in developing the university's academic programs and preparing them for academic accreditation. He highlighted that this visit follows the successful accreditation of four academic programs last year: Psychology, Library and Information Science, Surveying and Mapping, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
During the visit, a delegation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation, led by Prof. Ahmed Al-Khatib, Professor at the Faculty of Science, Sohag University, and an expert at the National Authority for Quality Assurance in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, conducted evaluations of the Greek and Roman Archaeology Program, Islamic Archaeology Program, and Ancient Egyptian Archaeology Program.
The committee focused on verifying the efficiency and quality of the educational process and assessing the accreditation requirements for the three programs. Several meetings were held with the academic administration, faculty members, teaching assistants, administrative staff, and graduates to evaluate the impact of these programs on employment opportunities.
Additionally, the committee inspected the infrastructure readiness of the programs and the faculty by visiting the library, laboratories, lecture halls, medical clinic, Center for the Blind and Disabled, Student Welfare Department, Student Affairs and Graduates Administration, Technical Affairs, and Financial Affairs. They also reviewed educational technologies available, including the e-learning platform, Distance Learning Unit, IT Unit, and Measurement and Evaluation Unit.
