During the Regular Meeting of the Tanta University Council: Major General Ashraf El-Gendy: "Tanta University is the House of Expertise and the Strategic Partner Supporting Gharbia Governorate." Prof. Mohamed Hussein: "We are keen for the university to be a key supporter of Gharbia Governorate in developmental projects."

The regular meeting of the Tanta University Council for February was held today under the chairmanship of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University, in the presence of Major General Ashraf El-Gendy, Governor of Gharbia; Prof. Fouad Heras, Former President of Tanta University; Prof. Abdel Hakim Abdel Khaleq, Former President of the University; Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Hatem Amin, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; the Deans of Faculties, and the University Secretary-General.


During his speech, Major General Ashraf El-Gendy emphasized that Tanta University has always been a key supporter of Gharbia Governorate, serving as a house of expertise and a strategic partner for the governorate. He praised the university’s efforts, faculties, and sectors in providing services to the people of the governorate, affirming the continued cooperation between the university and the governorate in the upcoming period. He also commended the outstanding educational and community services offered by the university to the residents of the governorate. Additionally, the Governor of Gharbia extended his congratulations to all university members on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.


Prof. Mohamed Hussein expressed his gratitude to the Governor of Gharbia for his continuous support and communication with Tanta University, emphasizing that the university plays a crucial role in supporting the governorate’s developmental projects. He also extended congratulations to the people of Gharbia Governorate and all members of Tanta University on the Supreme Council of Private Universities’ decision to approve the establishment of Tanta National University. This new institution will provide high-quality educational opportunities for high school graduates, reducing the hardship of traveling to other governorates to study in private universities.


He also highlighted the vast material and human resources available at the university, which have significantly improved the quality of graduates and students. This is evident in the activities of the Career Development Center, which provides comprehensive databases for students and graduates. He also extended his gratitude to Prof. Mahmoud Selim for his efforts in launching employment initiatives in collaboration with companies and economic institutions in Gharbia Governorate.


The session also featured a presentation by the Acting President of the University on the launch of the National Policy for Sustainable Innovation, derived from the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research. This policy comprises five sub-policies and a set of initiatives and programs aimed at achieving optimal performance indicators based on four main pillars: Talent Development, Technology Transfer, Funding Accessibility, and Governance & Improvement of the Work Environment.
