Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University, participated in the regular meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities yesterday, Saturday. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in the presence of Prof. Mostafa Refaat, Secretary-General of the Council, and other council members. The meeting was held at Cairo University.

According to the ministry's statement, the Minister of Higher Education directed an increased focus on scientific research and innovation in line with the National Policy for Sustainable Innovation and the presidential initiative "Alliance and Development." He also emphasized intensifying awareness campaigns for university students about the challenges facing national security, enhancing artistic and cultural activities, expanding student competitions, and fostering students' artistic sensibilities. Additionally, he instructed the formation of a committee of university professors to provide expertise to institutions involved in the development of drama and media.

The Minister also praised the inclusion of 19 Egyptian universities in the 2025 edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject.
