As part of his important visit to the Silesian University of Technology in Poland, Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, met with Prof. Marcin Adamiak, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and Prof. Barbara Klimczak, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, to explore broader horizons for collaboration in various engineering disciplines.
These discussions come within the framework of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research, which places high priority on enhancing international partnerships and knowledge exchange to advance Egypt’s educational and research ecosystems.
In the field of civil engineering, the dialogue focused on opportunities for joint research projects funded by the European Union and faculty exchange initiatives aimed at transferring expertise in modern construction technologies and building physics fundamentals.
In mechanical engineering, both parties explored the possibility of launching a joint review of the Mechatronics program, with the goal of establishing dual-degree pathways for students enrolled in the program at both Tanta University and the Silesian University. The discussions also covered the potential for hosting students from the Mechatronics program at Tanta National University for a semester or practical training period in Poland, capitalizing on Silesia’s strong industrial partnerships.
Prof. Mohamed Hussein emphasized that this visit marks a significant step toward activating academic and research collaboration between the two universities, in alignment with the state’s vision to link education with labor market needs and to offer high-quality learning opportunities—especially at Tanta National University. He expressed his aspiration to translate these discussions into concrete agreements in the near future, bringing mutual benefit to students, faculty members, and the broader Egyptian community.
